The project

From the starting point to the working solution.

The useful part of a case study is the reasoning behind the finished screen. This separates the constraint from the implementation.

01 / Challenge

What needed to change.

Fashion eCommerce has a different set of requirements from a standard product catalogue.

Products need strong imagery and storytelling, but customers also need clear pricing, product options, account functionality and a straightforward purchasing journey.

Petrichor also sells products that can have different sizes, configurations and optional components, so the underlying product structure needed to support more than simple one-price items.

The project therefore had to balance brand presentation with practical WooCommerce management.

02 / Approach

How TechBoard approached it.

TechBoard built Petrichor around WooCommerce so the business could manage products, inventory, orders and customers from a central WordPress backend.

The storefront was structured around collections rather than relying only on a traditional shop archive.

Product discovery was supported through collection sections, best sellers, promotional ranges, Quick View and wishlist functionality.

Individual products were configured to support the information and options needed for fashion products while maintaining a straightforward customer journey from discovery to purchase.

The wider implementation also included account functionality, policy pages and preparation for production payment processing.

Outcome

What changed.

Clear outcomes make the work easier to scan without inventing performance claims.

01

The business now has a dedicated branded eCommerce storefront for its fashion catalogue.

02

Products can be presented through curated collections rather than relying only on a generic shop grid.

03

WooCommerce provides a central system for product management, stock, orders and customer accounts.

04

Customers can browse products, use Quick View, save items to a wishlist and move through a standard shopping journey.

05

The website supports continued expansion into new collections, apparel categories and jewelry.

06

The public website also identifies TechBoard as the development partner.

Delivery

What was delivered.

The build is grouped by responsibility so the scope stays readable even on larger projects.

  • eCommerce | Product catalogue setup; Variable product configuration; Product options; Inventory setup; Cart and purchasing flow
  • Shopping experience | Wishlist functionality; Quick View; Collection merchandising; Product search; Best-seller and promotional sections
  • Content & business | Product content structure; Business information pages; Store policy setup; Payment gateway preparation
Behind the build

Implementation decisions that mattered.

Details about how the solution works are more useful than another list of features.

Petrichor needed more than a basic online shop.

The goal was to create a fashion-focused eCommerce experience capable of presenting luxury apparel, wedding wear, seasonal collections and jewelry while still giving the business a practical system for managing products, inventory, customers and orders.

TechBoard developed the store on WordPress and WooCommerce, combining visual merchandising with the functionality required for a growing online fashion business.

BEHIND THE BUILD

Collection-led commerce

Rather than making the Shop page the entire customer experience, Petrichor uses collections and merchandising sections to help visitors discover products in a way that feels more appropriate for fashion retail.

WooCommerce as the operational layer

WooCommerce provides the underlying catalogue, product, customer and order-management system while the frontend focuses on the visual presentation of the brand.

Products with real options

Fashion products often require sizes and optional components rather than a single fixed configuration. The WooCommerce product structure was set up to support those requirements.

Preparing for online payments

The development work also included the business information and policy foundation required as Petrichor moved toward production payment processing.
